Our Mission

Ambassador Canadian Reformed Church is a mission project started by Redeemer Canadian Reformed church with the goal of spreading the Reformed faith in southern Manitoba.

Why Ambassador?

The bible calls us to be Ambassadors of God to the world. 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 shows us that Christ sets an example for us by reconciling us with God.

20Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.  - 2 Corinthians 5:20-21

The name 'Ambassador' points to these words in 1 Corinthians 5:20-21.  There Paul refers to his role as an ambassador of Christ.  Christ is King and Paul speaks for Christ as his representative on earth.  That is the role of the church, as well.  The church is called as a representative of Christ the king, calling the world to faith and obedience in his name.

Why Reformed?

The word "Reformed" simply means "back to the original form," this is, the form which God Himself intended and revealed in the Bible. It points to the Word of God as the solid foundation and Jesus Christ as the only Head of the Church. This foundation was rediscovered during the years of the great Reformation in the 16th century by people such as John Calvin, Martin Luther, John Knox and Ulrich Zwingli.
